artist & programming director

Hayley McClintock (she/they) is a nonbinary artist and programming director based in Los Angeles. Her organization Art Time Presents is an art home for gender expansive artists in Los Angeles. As a multi-disciplinary artist herself, Hayley produces her own work under the name moonbaby. She likes to explore painting, collage, furniture restoration, photography, and production design/art direction. Her work takes a particular interest in color, shadows, abstraction, and the stories we can generate from art. Hayley values the courage it takes to take a risk and try something new as an artist, and is always interested in sharing this experience with her community in the form of collaboration and gathering.

Alongside her own work, Hayley collaborates with Allison DeJulius in their shared project called mellow.rebel.studio. Their work together seeks to explore color, texture, and depth in abstract painting and sculptural work. The studio shares a particular interest in the interplay between each color, or each material, in the piece and considers how these relationships bring life to the work and how that energy changes over time.

Hayley currently works as the Studio Manager for Marmalade Studio.

With roots in Southern California, Hayley has worked across artistic fields and filled many roles. She first crafted her perspective as a filmmaker and stage technician while she earned a degree in Film and Digital Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz. After graduating and moving to Los Angeles, she worked extensively as a stage technician at many of the major theaters (Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Musco Center for the Arts, etc), as well as working as a stage manager and prop builder with small theater companies (OMG Brunch!, Domino One Productions). Her work producing in film has garnered success with some of her work being screened at film festivals across the United States.
